A New Era in ICT Executive

The ICT Executive at Woldia University is dedicated to providing cutting-edge technology services and support to enhance the academic, research, and administrative activities of the university. We strive to create a technology-rich environment that enables seamless communication, collaboration, and innovation among faculty, staff, and students.

 We are committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements and continuously enhancing our services to meet the evolving needs of the university community. The ICT Executive at Woldia University is here to empower you with the tools and resources necessary to excel in your academic and professional endeavors. Based on the new structure the previously functioning Information Communication Technology (ICT) Directorate, transitioned into the newly formed ICT Executive.

The new structure includes six robust teams, each led by a team leader with set of skills and expertise (33 staff which is 25, Male and 8 female), contributing towards enhancing our ICT landscape. With this new structure, the ICT Executive deliver range of services

Mission

ICT Executive is responsible for state–of-the-art infrastructure, information provision, and IT management for quality ICT facilities efficiently and effectively (cost & use). Provide central IT support for research, e-Learning, administration and policy, with return on the investments in our university administration to run more smoothly and more efficiently.

Strategic Golas(5-10 Years)

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and server
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Managing network servers and technology tools
  • Setting up accounts and workstations
  • Oversee the coordination with ICT regarding installations and configurations of Local Area Networks (LANs) and related devices.
  • Install and maintain network servers and operating systems to ensure backup copies of all files are securely stored at a specific location
  • Troubleshoot problems with network devices and perform updates when required
  • Collaborating with management, departments and administrative staff to identify end-user requirements and specifications
  • Designing algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems
  • Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements
  • Testing and deploying programs and applications
